Many of the Asian deliverers that we see daily on the streets of the capital bringing food to our doorsteps are these days ticking off the first snow of their lives. The snow has caught them unprepared, and their wardrobes have given the workers who are used to walking around in flip-flops the most trouble.<\/span><\/p>\n

In shorts and sneakers, but with gloves. That's how Antim Nepali, a 23-year-old Nepali, celebrated the snowfall in Bucharest. He has been in Romania for 8 months and works as a\u00a0livrator<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"This cold! It's very cold, but I love it! This is my first time seeing snow and I'm really excited to see it and play in the snow!\"<\/i>he said.<\/p>\n

In Romania there are almost 2,000 foreign suppliers, most of them from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan, countries where the sun shines almost all year round. Many have been taking these days off. Wardrobes were the first hurdle when they faced the frost.<\/p>\n

\"There is a shock, on that adaptation side, but the winter is quite short and passes quickly. Where they come from, there's no winter and then they don't have boots, hats, gloves... especially those who work outdoors. They really need them and the employer usually provides them\"<\/i>said Yosef Gavriel Gavriel Peisakh, a foreign recruiter.<\/p>\n

There are also Asians who have ventured out on their bikes, with their bikes and backpacks, through the snowdrifts.<\/p>\n

\"Today it is snowing heavily here in Bucharest and it is very cold. It's very hard to go outside, the bike is always slipping... I just finished 5 orders and the 6th is on its way. Today there are more errands because everyone is at home and can't go outside. Sometimes it's an extra 15-20 minutes wasted because of the weather because I get stuck on the route and have to walk. I manage!\"<\/i>said a delivery man.<\/p>\n

Food delivered hot, on time, in bad weather rewards itself<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last month in America, a man received a $42,000 tip delivering pizzas during a snowstorm. Although he initially received only $2 for a $40 order, a passing police officer started a fundraiser to support the young man.
