A pilot project initiated by the foreign recruitment agency Work from Asia, through the Department of Migrant Workers in the Philippines, aims to employ more than 3,500 workers.
,,This project which I have initiated targets the largest number of Filipino employees ever recruited in Romania. We are talking about 3,500 workers, of which 3,000 are truck drivers and 500 are caretakers. The truck drivers will be hired by road haulage companies in Romania and will be trained in the country, with many of them then being posted to the EU for intra-EU goods transportation"said Yosef Gavriel Gavriel Peisakh, initiator of the project and general manager of the foreign recruitment agency Work from Asia.
The country's labour shortage is also felt acutely in the field of personal care, where specialized and accredited staff with an international reputation are needed. The solution has once again come from the Philippines, a country whose workers are recognized worldwide as highly skilled, calm and empathetic carers.
One of the main reasons why Romania is currently facing an acute shortage of manpower in both the care and transportation sectors is the migration of Romanians to countries such as Italy, Spain, Germany and France, where the salaries of both a caregiver and a truck driver are much higher than in our labor market.
,,Caregivers for disabled and elderly people, known internationally as caregivers, will work in private accommodation and treatment institutions for the elderly, as well as with individuals with these specific needs"added Yosef Gavriel Peisakh.
Recruitment is expected to begin shortly after the last favorable opinion is obtained by the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers and will be carried out in several stages.
,,We will provide a pre-screening of the candidates, personal interviews and practical tests in the Philippines, and after the final selection we will start obtaining work permits in Romania and in parallel the candidates will undergo a specific training in the training centers in the Philippines. The Work from Asia team will travel to the Philippines and will be active in all stages of recruitment and training, together with company representatives employers", concluded Yosef Gavriel Peisakh.
