There have been significant changes in the staff import market in 2021. What's next in 2022

If this year the activity of companies in charge of importing personnel has been greatly influenced by the Government's decision to double the quota of foreign workers from non-EU countries, the first estimates for next year already announce major changes, in the context that in 2022 Romania will receive 100,000 new employees from other countries.

"Work from Asia", one of Romania's leading foreign staff placement and recruitment companies, reports - following an analysis of its activity in the year to end - an increase in revenues of around T15% compared to the previous year, as well as a change in the market for imported labor.

"We recorded an increase of 15 % compared to the previous year, and from the requests we received we can clearly see a diversification in the categories of services for which we imported foreign staff. If before we were talking about standard areas such as construction, agriculture, HoReCa and the domestic segment, in other words anything that involves the recruitment of nannies, housekeepers or domestic assistants, now we can say that we bring in labor for any area. We have even received a recruitment request for the post of jewelers or therapists in acupuncture and complementary therapies," said Yosef Gavriel Peisakh, General Manager "Work from Asia".

Another phenomenon that can easily be observed in the market for the import of personnel is the explosion of companies in this field of activity, which inevitably leads to increased competition. What is more, the phenomenon of work visas for sale online is both visible and worrying, a practice on the verge of legality which is highly sought after by foreign workers who are mainly interested in simply transiting through our country.

"Competition is fiercer. There are more and more firms popping up, but in a way it's getting tougher because there are customers for everyone. When you're an experienced company that cares a lot about standards it's clear that your clients have the same values as you. Those who agree to work with a well-established company like ours are fortunately much more secure in terms of the risks they are exposing themselves to by importing staff. However, this is the first time that I have reported a phenomenon on such a large scale as that of work visas on the Internet. There are people who only apply for a work permit to enter the country and then move on to other countries in the West," concluded Yosef Gavriel Peisakh.

Despite estimates of revenue growth of around 20% for Work from Asia in the coming year, 2022 is shaping up to be a challenging year, marked primarily by the increase in the time it takes for the Romanian state to issue visas for foreign workers.

Thus, the waiting time for visas has increased from 4 months to 6 and 8 months respectively, which for companies like "Work from Asia" is a real problem in negotiating contracts and communicating with clients.

Since 2010, "Work from Asia" has successfully secured and brokered hundreds of recruitment contracts for almost all areas of business, sourcing labor from countries such as the Philippines, Vietnam, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.

The company is also ready to support companies in Romania with efficient teams of workers and to cover the existing needs in fields such as: construction, agriculture and zootechnics, textile and Horeca, to mention just a few.

The agency's area of activity also includes the provision of manpower for the industrial segment, where it provides its clients with Asian staff for any type of factory, to the intermediation of cleaning services, care for the elderly or disabled.

"Work from Asia" is an Asian recruitment agency that also aims to support the automotive sectors, from staffing the automotive sector, to solving staff shortages in car services, car washes and last but not least in the field of goods and passenger transportation.
