Demand for labor in the Philippines is soaring

With the Romanian authorities in New Delhi overwhelmed by the large number of applications for work visas for workers from Nepal, Sri Lanka and India, the solution comes from the Philippines, which is currently the fastest source of labor for Romania.

As the quota of foreign workers with the right to work in Romania has been increased to 100,000, companies recruiting foreign labor face a new challenge. This is the considerable increase in the waiting time for Romanian authorities to grant work visas to foreign workers. Thus, an operation that normally only required a waiting time of 3 months has now reached 8 months before Romanian companies are able to receive foreign staff.

Yosef Gavriel Peisakh, General Manager WORK FROM ASIA, has recently returned from the Philippines, where he had a series of official meetings with representatives of the Romanian authorities in this country, as well as with the most notable companies for the business environment in this country.

"There is a growing interest both from Romanian employers for workers from the Philippines and from Romanian employers for our country. I have been attending dozens of job interviews these days and I can definitely say that the Filipino workforce is the best in every respect, based on my experience of over 12 years in the field. These people are good workers, they are well educated, they are good English speakers and they have almost 40 years of knowledge of what it takes to work overseas. Of course, for this premium category of personnel, the prices are higher, but Romanian employers have understood the importance of quality and reliable labor," said Yosef Gavriel Peisakh.

Among the factors that contribute to the premium status of this segment of the workforce are the protection offered by the Philippine state to the worker, the proper regulation and permanent monitoring of the employee, which from the outset is a guarantee for both the employer and the provider.

"Most Asian workers see Romania as a transit destination to Europe and its more developed countries, which is why a visa-buying market has even developed, which is an extremely alarming phenomenon. This is not the case for the labor force from the Philippines, who come to Romania strictly to work", concluded Yosef Gavriel Peisakh.

One of the most experienced companies on the Asian recruitment services market in Romania, which since 2010 has successfully secured and brokered hundreds of recruitment contracts for almost all business sectors, WORK FROM ASIA provides labor from countries such as the Philippines, Vietnam, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

WORK FROM ASIA, part of the ISROM GROUP, a labor placement agency that has made it its mission to support workers and to follow their entire evolution on the Romanian territory, from the moment they enter the country until their departure.
