Good news for Romanian families who have chosen to hire nannies for their children in the Philippines. With the appointment of a new Consul at the Romanian Embassy in Manila, the crisis of bringing in domestic staff has ended.
Now it is once again possible to bring recruits from the Philippines to the country, and the wait for many employers is over.
,,For the Romanian labor market, the appointment of a new consul is a big step in unblocking the crisis of Filipino personnel, which has been almost impossible to bring to the country in the last eight months. We now have the possibility to obtain work visas more easily and implicitly to be able to bring in even more labor, in the areas of activity that need labor. Since September 2022 until now we have not had a permanent consul and getting visas has been downright difficult."said Yosef Gavriel Gavriel Peisakh, general manager of Work from Asia, one of Asia's leading recruitment agencies.
At the moment the demand for Filipino personnel is constantly growing, mainly for the domestic segment, where nannies, housekeepers, gardeners, family drivers and even personal chefs are in great demand. Other areas where Filipino workers are valued in Romania are agriculture, construction, HoReCa, textiles and transportation.

In general, Romanian employers who opted to hire Filipino staff have come back and recruited even more workers. While the basic salary of a Filipina nanny starts at €500 for the first contract, the renewal of the employment contract usually entails a salary increase up to €700-800, as the employer provides room and board, representatives of the recruitment firm told "Adevărul".
