Massive recruitment of Indonesian workers for HoReCa in 2024

23/08/2023

During an official visit to Indonesia, representatives of one of Romania's leading foreign recruitment agencies set the import strategy for the 2024 summer season. Thus, hundreds of Indonesian workers are already being interviewed for HoReCa, whose main objective is to get a job in Romania. Among their most sought-after jobs are jobs as gardeners, cooks, receptionists and massage therapists.

"We have very good signals from the labor market in Indonesia, where there is a great interest in filling the vacancies in Romania. We are talking about well trained people who come from a culture where there is a lot of respect and responsibility. At the moment, most candidates are applying for jobs in the HoReCa sector. It is well known that tourism in Indonesia has a long history and reputation already, so we will bring people to Romania who are interested in improving our services. We have eager workforce willing to work in hotel reception, restaurants and spa staff mainly, which is much needed in our country right now", said Yosef Gavriel Peisakh, General Manager WORK FROM ASIA.

While until now workers from Sri Lanka, Nepal and India have been highly sought after by Romanian employers, there has recently been a growing interest in labor from countries such as the Philippines and Indonesia, where Romanian employers are finding mostly highly trained and qualified personnel, according to employers.

"Especially when it comes to extremely high standard hotel facilities or even restaurants, entrepreneurs already know that for this type of business the most efficient staff is from countries like Indonesia or the Philippines, where there is a strictness of standards that you don't find anywhere else," concluded Yosef Gavriel Peisakh.

Among the areas with the highest demand for staff are: construction, agriculture and livestock, textiles and Horeca, to name but a few.
